This past weekend I celebrated my 30 something ;) birthday in Washington D.C. with my husband and a few close friends. I grabbed a couple key clothing pieces months ago but the majority of my birthday looks came together last minute. I loved them all! Maybe it was the fact that I’m more comfortable in my skin since working out consistently, but I felt beautiful all weekend!

I opted for a more neutral color palette than I’m normally used to. Not exactly sure what made me want to do that but it felt like it made sense for my celebratory weekend.

I’ve linked all the pieces that I wore on my trip below. Special shout out to the two black woman-owned businesses that I shopped for the first time. I started following Monroe a couple years ago and honestly she’s the model influencer. She never misses a detail and commits to giving you valuable content on the regular! I’ve loved Sonjia ever since I first saw her on Project Runway, so I was beyond ecstatic to get a couple pieces from their collaboration.

I came across Frisk Me Good’s unique pieces somewhere deep in the interwebs one day and I knew that I had to have a corset by her! Her pieces are so special and it makes it ten times better that it was created by hand by a black woman. I was highly satisfied with both of these companies products and will definitely be repurchasing from them in the future!
