February Favorites 2021
Im sure it’s no surprise to find out that I’m a product junkie! My husband doesn’t understand why I need an AM and PM moisturizer but honestly I don’t expect him to…. it’s a woman thang! Besides, he never complains when my skin is soft, supple, and smelling good. ;)
When I am purchasing new products I like to make sure i’m investing my money well. If it’s a more expensive product ($40 and up) I like to try a sample or mini size before investing in the full-size. But there’s still a ton of great and affordable products on the market for all your skincare needs. (Sephora and Ulta usually offer samples of everything from makeup to skincare but some in-store policies may have changed due to Covid)
Ultra Facial Cleanser and Ultra Facial Cream
Lately, I’ve been more focused on skincare since my skin was going through a rough patch from stress and mask-ne (mask acne). So I repurchased the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser and Ultra Facial Cream from Sephora. This combo is definitely one of favorites because it is super moisturizing for my dry skin while also being gentle. I never get irritated from using any of Kiehl’s products but whenever I’m changing up my skincare routine I like to implement the products one at a time. This helps me to know what may be irritating my skin, if anything, and what works best to continue using. The moisturizer is a little pricey but it lasts a while especially if you’re using a different nighttime moisturizer in your routine. The Ultra Facial Cream was $32 for 1.7 fluid oz via Sephora. When it comes to the cleanser, a little goes a long way so it ends up being more affordable in the long run. The Ultra Facial Cleanser was $25 for 7.7 fluid oz via Sephora.
Supergoop! PLAY Everyday Lotion SPF 50
Everyone should be using a sunscreen every single day… even in the house! Sunscreen is so important in protecting the skin from collagen and connective tissue damage. It also prevents wrinkles and skin discoloration which is important at any age. I’m much more conscious of my skin routine now that I’m in my 30s and I will splurge on skincare in a minute if I know the product I’m paying for will deliver the desired results. The PLAY Everyday Lotion SPF 50 was $22 for 2.4 fluid oz via Sephora.
Sephora Aloe Vera Face Mask and Sephora Pomegranate Eye Masks
When Sephora came out with their own makeup and skincare products I was a little skeptical at first. I still haven’t delve too deep into what they have to offer but I have tried some of their lip glosses and most of their face masks. Two of my favs are the Aloe Vera Face Mask and Pomegranate Eye Masks. I love sheet masks because they’re cooling, quick, and not too messy. They’re perfect for those times when you want to have a spa day without breaking the bank. They also have hand and foot masks that are $5 and under. Doesn’t get much better than that! The Aloe Vera Face Mask was $4 for one sheet mask via Sephora. The Pomegranate Eye Masks were $2.50 for one pair via Sephora.
Aunt Jackie’s Butter Creme Intensive Moisture Sealant
I don’t know where I’ve been but I stumbled across this brand a couple months ago and I haven’t stopped buying their products since. To start with the obvious, they’re extremely affordable. Like it’s almost crazy how good their products work for the cost. I have a house full of natural hair so we go through bottles and bottles of product at a time. Finding a brand that was affordable and reliable was like hitting the Hair Jackpot! The Butter Creme is my most recent try from the brand and long story short…. still sold. The Butter Creme Intensive Moisture Sealant was $6.99 for 7.5 fluid oz at Target.
Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Shine Enhancing Hair Sheen
I picked up this hair sheen on a whim because we needed an oil in our hair routine and it did not disappoint. First of all, it smells sensational. You’ll want to spray it in your hair just because it smells that good. You only need 2 or 3 pumps so it lasts a really long time. My only gripe with the product is the bottle. I recommend spraying the oil in your hand and distributing it through your hair like that because the nozzle on the bottle sprays out like a stream. The Black Vanilla Shine Enhancing Hair Sheen was $11.99 for 4.3 fluid oz at Target.
Nivea Essentially Enriched Body Lotion
This lotion is a staple in my body care routine and has been for some years now. It’s definitely one of the best lotions at the drugstore! The Almond Oil makes the lotion smell amazing and leaves you with a shiny glow from within. The dark blue bottle is twice as nourishing as the light blue bottle, so choose wisely. The Essentially Enriched Body Lotion was $4.99 for 16.9 fluid oz at Target.
Let me know what products you’ve tried from this line up in the comments below! Also drop some eye cream recommendations as well. Im still on the hunt for a good one!
