Carol’s Daughter Wash Day Delight with Rose Water Review
I have been using Carol’s Daughter over the last 15 years of my natural hair journey and I love trying out their new products. I picked up their Carol’s Daughter Wash Day Delight Rose Water Shampoo and Conditioner and they DID NOT disappoint! The rosy smell is very alluring and soothing as you apply it to your scalp. And don't even get me started on the conditioner, which has a jelly-to-cream consistency. It’s a dream!
I was excited to try these products when I picked them up from Target because I’d previously tried the Wash Day Delight with Aloe line. (You can check out my review here on my Youtube Channel) I find that the Rose line is a lot more moisturizing and gentle on the hair. It also lathers better than the Aloe line, IMO. I was able to use wayyyy less product when I was shampooing and conditioning which is always a plus! My favorite thing about the shampoo is still the nozzle because it just makes so much sense for a shampoo that needs to be applied DIRECTLY to your scalp. (Tip: Be sure you're not lathering up your entire head when washing your hair. You should always focus the majority of the shampoo on the roots and drag the rest through your ends as you rinse it out.)
The water-to-foam consistency of the shampoo works to cleanse your hair of build up while not leaving your hair feeling stripped and dry. The rose water acts as a gentle essence to prevent breakage and tangles as you wash. It’s basically everything you’re looking to experience when you're overdue for a good wash day!
The conditioner, on the other hand, was pleasantly surprising. Carol’s Daughter had not yet released the conditioner pair for the Aloe line so I wasn’t able to try it the first time and had no idea what to expect. The uniquely formulated jelly-to-cream consistency is amazing and super moisturizing as soon as you apply it to your hair! Since the base product is glycerin the conditioner has a ton of slip to help you detangle while in the shower. They also recommend applying the conditioner to your scalp as well so you can receive all of the great benefits it has to offer.
The Carol’s Daughter Wash Day Delight Rose Water Shampoo and Conditioner is definitely a new staple in my haircare rotation and I can’t wait to find out what other products they will release from the line in the future. Let me know in the comments if you’ve tried any of the Carol’s Daughter Wash Day Delight products and what you think!
