Wedding Guest Dress Inspiration for Fall

I’ll be attending my first wedding since 2019 next month and I’m so excited! My cousin is getting married in Houston so we’ll be celebrating with our family over that weekend, with NO KIDS! (woohoo) I thought this would be a great time to round up dress inspiration for anyone attending a Fall/Winter wedding this season.

Before we get into the fun part, there are some unspoken rules when you’re a guest at a wedding. I’ve gathered a couple tips to adhere to to make sure everyone is happy and the day runs smoothly for the new couple!

  1. When shopping for a wedding dress, be sure to remember the bride is the woman of the hour. Try to not wear anything that could possibly take the attention away from the bride on her special day.

  2. Do not wear white, cream, or any other color that could be too familiar to the bride’s wedding dress. Fall weddings are the time to wear deep purples, greens, and blues. Spring weddings are the perfect time to wear a pop of color. (note: pay close attention to the dress code if one is requested)

  3. Be on time!!!! If the bride is walking down the aisle and you’re slipping in through the back door…. DON’T.

  4. Be respectful of the photographer. Couples spend upwards of thousands of dollars to have wedding pictures that will last a lifetime, so blocking them to get an instagram video is pretty inconsiderate.

  5. Let your hair down and have fun. The bride and groom want you to enjoy yourself, especially cause they paid for a party! So grab a drink, get out on the dance floor, and make sure they have a good ole, memorable time.

  6. Last but certainly not least, DO NOT EVER IN YOUR LIFE THINK IT’S A GOOD IDEA TO PROPOSE AT SOMEONE ELSE’S WEDDING. If you are a woman and this ever happens to you please say “no”. You don’t want to marry a man with bad judgment. :)
